The Short Version
BYD showed eight new vehicles across three brands at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed and has confirmed a pipeline through 2027 that touches nearly every segment. If you’re shopping for a BYD right now, check this list first — the car you want may be about to get a cheaper or better sibling.
Confirmed for the UK and Europe
BYD Atto 2 DM-i — from £26,995
BYD’s compact SUV gains a plug-in hybrid version at a price that undercuts almost every PHEV on sale. Expected to be a volume smash. Full details in our Atto 2 guide.
BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring — on sale now, from £34,990
The rare affordable PHEV estate — 675-litre boot, ~100 km electric range. See the Seal 6 DM-i guide.
BYD Ti7 — late 2026
A new SUV confirmed for the UK before the end of 2026. Expect a tech-focused family SUV positioned above the Atto 3; full UK specification is still to be announced. (Its engineering roots trace to BYD’s newest China-market SUV families — we’ll update when the WLTP figures land.)
Denza brand rollout — through 2026–2027
BYD’s premium brand opened European orders in April 2026 (D9 MPV, Z9 GT from €115,000, B5 off-road SUV, Denza Z supercar from £142,900 in the UK), expanding to ~30 countries by end of 2026. Full breakdown in Denza explained.
Local production ramp
The Hungary plant began output in 2026 and a $1bn Turkey plant opens late 2026 — expect more European-built BYDs, which matters for tariffs, delivery times and possibly pricing.
Confirmed for Australia and New Zealand
BYD M9 — second half of 2026
A 5.1-metre, seven-seat plug-in hybrid people mover (1.5T petrol + electric motor), based on the platform behind BYD’s Chinese flagship MPVs. Aimed at the Kia Carnival crowd with fuel bills a Carnival can’t match.
BYD Ti7 — expected alongside the UK launch
Right-hand-drive timing tends to pair Australia with the UK.
BYD Atto 3 Evo — confirmed update
Much more than a facelift: BYD’s original global hit moves to a newer platform with a 74.8 kWh battery, 800V electrics, ~220 kW DC charging, rear-wheel drive and a first-ever AWD option. Already launched in the UK and Israel; Australian timing confirmed for 2026. See the Atto 3 guide.
BYD Seal 6 sedan + Touring wagon — confirmed
Australia gets both bodies, giving the market its first cheap PHEV wagon in years.
An Australia-only special model
BYD’s Asia-Pacific GM has confirmed “a special model just for Australian customers” — unannounced at time of writing. Given Australia’s ute obsession and the Shark 6’s success, a ute or off-road variant is the safe bet. Watch this space.
Reading the China Tea Leaves (What’s Likely After That)
China’s lineup runs one to two years ahead of export markets, so BYD’s Chinese catalogue is the best preview of 2027 showrooms. Strong candidates for export based on China-market success:
- Qin L / Seal 06 GT — next-generation compact saloon/hatch family with fifth-gen DM-i (2,000+ km claimed combined range in Chinese testing)
- Xia MPV — the base technology for the export M9; a full-size hybrid MPV
- Fangchengbao Bao 8 → “Denza B8” — the larger off-roader, already shown in Southeast Asia
- Tang L / “Sealion 8” — already in NZ; broader rollout likely
- Han L / Tang L flagship EVs — with megawatt flash charging, if BYD’s European charging network materialises
For how Chinese names map to export names, see the China vs export model names cross-reference.
Should You Wait or Buy Now?
- Buying an Atto 3? The Evo update is confirmed — either wait for it or negotiate hard on pre-update stock.
- Can’t charge at home? The Atto 2 DM-i and Seal 6 DM-i change the calculus versus a pure EV — see EV vs DM-i.
- Want a 7-seater? Two are coming (M9, Sealion 8/Tang L in some markets) — waiting is rational.
- Buying a Seal or Sealion 7 today? No direct replacement is imminent; buy on current deals with confidence.
